Corolla Washer Fluid Warning

I have a 2003 Toyota Corolla with a diesel engine and about 115768 km on it. I'm getting a "washer fluid low" warning, but the windshield washer isn't working. The error is also stored. Could it just be low wiper fluid?

Summary of the thread

The main issue was a "washer fluid low" warning in a 2003 Toyota Corolla, with the windshield washer not functioning. The problem was initially suspected to be due to low washer fluid or a potential issue with the washer fluid pump. After checking, it was found that the washer fluid was completely empty, causing the warning and stored error. Refilling the washer fluid resolved the issue, confirming that the problem was simply due to an empty washer fluid reservoir.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

I drive a Corolla too (different year), and had similar issues. It could be low washer fluid, but my washer motor failed from running dry. Did you check the fluid level?

Thanks for the quick reply. I checked, and the fluid was completely empty. Could a damaged washer fluid pump be the problem, since the error is stored?

That's possible, based on what I experienced. The error code suggests the washer pump or its circuit. I'd go to a workshop to prevent more damage.

Thanks for the advice. I refilled the windshield washer fluid, and it works now. It was just empty, which caused the stored error. Cost 25€.
