Corsa Anti-Theft Alarm Malfunction
Summary of the thread
A 2012 Vauxhall Corsa experienced a malfunctioning anti-theft alarm system, with an error stored in the memory and the alarm not functioning. Despite checking common issues like fuses, the problem persisted. It was suggested that the issue might be related to the alarm system incorrectly trying to activate the car's indicators. Upon taking the car to a workshop, it was confirmed that the alarm system was misconfigured, and recoding resolved the issue.

Interesting. How can I check that? What do you mean by 'activate the optical locking'?

By optical locking I mean the turning lights. Does the car try to indicate a lock when the alarm should be active? I'd advise getting it checked at a workshop; it could be a similar coding issue.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a workshop, and it turned out you were right! The alarm system was indeed coded incorrectly and was trying to activate the indicators when it shouldn't have. They recoded it, and it's working perfectly now. Cost me 45€, which isn't too bad. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction!

I had a similar problem with my old Renault Megane. Different brand, I know, but the symptoms sound awfully familiar. Does the alarm system try to activate the optical locking (indicators)? That was the error in my case.
