Corsa central locking failure

Hey, I'm having a weird issue with my 2002 Vauxhall Corsa, diesel engine. It's only done 46613 km. The central locking has stopped working; I can't lock or unlock the doors. Could it be a faulty door contact signal? I've read it might be a defective cable or plug connection. I'm pretty concerned.

I had similar issues with my Corsa, although mine's newer. I'd check the door switch, or door sensor signal. Is the car alarm also affected? Does it trigger when you open the doors, or does the car even realize a door is open?

Thanks! The car alarm doesn't trigger when the doors are opened, and the interior lights don't come on either. Does that sound like a faulty door contact signal, or could it be something else?

Sounds very similar to what I experienced. Since the car isn't registering the door opening at all, a faulty contact signal is likely. You could investigate it yourself, but I'd suggest taking it to a workshop. These things can be trickier than they seem, and you might cause more problems. Check for corrosion on the connector first, though!

Thanks for the advice. I had it checked at a workshop. They confirmed it was a faulty door contact signal, traced to a defective cable connection, just like you suspected. Repair cost 95€.
