Thanks! I haven't checked the fuel pressure, but I did think it might be fuel starvation. I'll check the fuel volume regulator and high-pressure fuel pump. Yes, I have seen misfires, mostly at low speeds.

Misfires with the other symptoms points to fuel pressure regulation. Given the mileage and how intermittent it is, the high pressure pump might be failing. They're built to tight tolerances, so wear can cause problems. Get it checked by a mechanic. Those systems run at high pressure, so repairs without the right tools could be dangerous.

Thanks for the advice. I booked it in and the garage confirmed a defective fuel volume regulator and a failing high-pressure fuel pump. The repair was 1510€ including parts and labor.

Check engine light, stalling, and power loss could be a fuel delivery issue. Has anyone checked the fuel pressure? A bad fuel volume regulator can cause that. With that mileage, check the high pressure fuel pump too; they can fail and mess with the fuel pressure. Any misfires when it's running rough?
