Corsa EV Tech Troubles: GPS & Phone Sync Dead at 228k
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Vauxhall Corsa EV with 228,000 km is experiencing connectivity issues, specifically with phone syncing and a non-functional GPS. The problem may stem from a need for a firmware update or loose wiring in the control module. A similar case was resolved by visiting an official Vauxhall service center, where a firmware update and repositioning of the Bluetooth antenna fixed the issues. The recommended solution is to seek professional diagnostics and repair at an authorized dealer, which has proven effective for others with similar problems.

Thanks for sharing that! Really helpful to know I'm not alone with these connectivity problems. It sounds like we had pretty similar issues. By the way, do you remember roughly how much you ended up paying for the fix? Also, has everything been running smoothly since then, or have you noticed any other quirks pop up? Cheers!

Hey! Happy to help update you on that. Yeah, the whole thing set me back just 45€ at the Vauxhall center, mainly for sorting out that device pairing issue that was driving me nuts. Honestly, it was money well spent because everything's been working like a charm since then. My phone connects straight away now, and the GPS hasn't missed a beat. I know what it's like being worried about dodgy mechanics, but these guys really knew their stuff with the electric models. Haven't had a single connectivity problem since the fix, it's actually kind of nice not having to mess around with reconnecting my phone every time I get in the car! Let me know if you end up getting yours sorted. Always good to hear how other Vauxhall owners are getting on with their cars. Best of luck!

Thanks a bunch for all the details! I actually bit the bullet and took your advice about going to the Vauxhall center. You weren't kidding about them knowing their stuff! Had pretty much the same experience as you, they found my control module needed updating and fixed some loose wiring. The whole thing only cost me 50€, which was way less than I was expecting. They had it done in about 2 hours, and I've been using it for a week now with zero issues. The GPS is working perfectly, and my phone connects instantly every time I get in. Really glad I asked here before trying any unusual garage. Sometimes you just need that little push from someone who's been through the same thing, you know? Thanks again for sharing your experience, definitely saved me a lot of headache! Cheers!

As a 2018 Vauxhall Mokka-e owner, I faced similar connectivity issues last month. My infotainment system also had trouble pairing with devices and the GPS would disconnect out of nowhere. Took it to the official Vauxhall service center, turned out the main control module needed a firmware update and they had to reset the entire infotainment system. The Bluetooth antenna also needed repositioning as it had come loose over time. Not a serious mechanical issue, but definitely something that required professional diagnostic equipment to identify and fix. The whole process took about 3 hours at the service center. Since then, all connectivity functions have been working perfectly. Would recommend getting it checked at an authorized dealer, especially since these electric models have more complex electronic systems than conventional cars. Hope this helps with your decision!
