Corsa Gearbox Slipping Engine Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2011 Vauxhall Corsa diesel is experiencing starting issues, a check engine light, and a slipping gearbox. Error codes suggest a defective control unit as a possible cause. A similar issue in another Corsa was resolved by replacing or rebuilding the faulty transmission control unit, which is recommended to prevent further damage.

Yeah, exactly! A coughing fit is a great description. So, what did you do to sort it? Was it something simple, or did you have to sell your kidneys to pay for it?

Unfortunately, no cheap fix for me. The mechanic diagnosed it as a faulty transmission control unit. They said that was the most likely culprit from the symptoms and error codes. If yours is the same, you're probably looking at needing a replacement or a rebuild. I'd get it properly diagnosed at a garage ASAP before you cause any more damage. It cost me around 1000€ to get sorted.

Ouch, 1000€! That's what I was afraid of. Thanks for the heads-up. Looks like a trip to the workshop is on the cards. At least I know what to expect now. Cheers!

Sounds nasty. I had similar weirdness with my Corsa (petrol, though) last year. Check engine light, refusing to start sometimes, and real jerky gear changes. Feels like the car's having a coughing fit, right?
