Corsa heavy steering vibration

Wheel alignment seems okay, visually at least. No major knocks either. Could a faulty steering sensor really cause the heavy steering and vibrations? I thought it would just affect the traction control or something.

Yes, a faulty steering angle sensor can definitely cause those issues. In my BMW, it messed with the power steering assist. The car thought I was doing something completely different with the steering wheel, and the system got confused. It's likely the coding of the sensor, as you mentioned. Get it checked at a workshop to avoid further issues, they'll probably need to recalibrate or replace it.

Thanks for the advice! Took it to the shop, and you were spot on. Faulty coding on the steering angle sensor. They recoded it, and everything's back to normal. Cost me 195€ Appreciate the help!

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my old BMW 3 Series. The steering went all weird and heavy, especially at low speeds. Did you check your wheel alignment? A bad alignment can sometimes throw off the steering sensor and cause these kinds of symptoms. Has the car had any knocks recently, like hitting a kerb?
