Corsa Immobilizer Fault

Corsa-e 2021 electric, having immobilizer fault. It fails to start, or starts momentarily then stops. Error memory indicates immobilizer malfunction. Could it be incorrect key programming?

Sounds familiar! Does the security light flash in a weird pattern when you try to start it? What happens if you try the spare key?

Yes, security light flashes erratically. Spare key does the same thing. What were the symptoms and diagnostic procedures you did?

With the spare key doing the same thing, it really does sound like the immobilizer. In my case, it was doing exactly what you described: starting for a split second and then cutting out. I didn't do any diagnostics myself, I took it straight to a workshop because I was worried about getting stranded. They sorted it out pretty quickly.

Thanks, that confirms my suspicions. Given the complexities and identical symptoms, I'll seek professional assistance. I'll schedule a workshop appointment to address the immobilizer fault and rectify the key programming. The final repair cost for programming of the key was 45€.
