Yes, security light flashes erratically. Spare key does the same thing. What were the symptoms and diagnostic procedures you did?

With the spare key doing the same thing, it really does sound like the immobilizer. In my case, it was doing exactly what you described: starting for a split second and then cutting out. I didn't do any diagnostics myself, I took it straight to a workshop because I was worried about getting stranded. They sorted it out pretty quickly.
