Corsa Manifold Pressure Sensor Fault

Alright, car gurus, I'm pulling my hair out here. My 2022 Vauxhall Corsa, gasoline engine, is acting up. It's got about 79899 km on the clock. The check engine light is on, and I'm experiencing seriously reduced engine power, the engine response is sluggish as heck, and my fuel consumption has gone through the roof. I've scanned the OBD and it's pointing to a faulty manifold pressure sensor. I've checked for obvious vacuum leaks, and I think there's a large leakage in the intake manifold. Anyone else had this happen?

Summary of the thread

The conversation centers around a 2022 Vauxhall Corsa experiencing reduced engine power, sluggish response, and increased fuel consumption, with a check engine light indicating a faulty manifold pressure sensor. The problem may be caused by a vacuum leak, possibly a large one in the intake manifold. Suggested solutions include thoroughly inspecting hoses for cracks and considering professional repair to confirm and address both the sensor fault and any vacuum leaks.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

That sounds incredibly frustrating, I feel your pain. I had a similar issue with my Corsa. Same symptoms: check engine light, power loss, and awful fuel economy. The diagnostics also pointed to the manifold pressure sensor. Have you inspected the hoses connected to the intake manifold carefully? Sometimes a small crack can be the culprit.

Thanks for the quick reply! I did visually inspect the hoses, but I didn't do a thorough check for tiny cracks. Was it difficult to locate the leak on your car? Did you replace the sensor yourself, or did you take it to a shop?

Locating the leak was a bit of a pain, to be honest. It was a hairline fracture on the underside of one of the hoses, almost impossible to see without really bending it. Considering the potential impact on the engine's performance and the intricacies involved, I ultimately decided to take it to a reputable workshop. They confirmed the faulty sensor and the vacuum leak, and replaced both.

Okay, that's good to know. Sounds like I'm heading down the same path. I appreciate the insight – I'll book it in with a mechanic. They've quoted me 235€ for the sensor replacement and fixing the leakage, so hopefully, that will solve it. Thanks again!
