Corsa Multifunction Steering Wheel Fault

Multifunction steering wheel buttons stopped working on my 2010 Vauxhall Corsa diesel with 114844 km. The horn still works, but radio and cruise control buttons don't. No wiring changes, malfunction indicator lamp is off, but code reader showed a steering wheel error. Any ideas?

The symptoms and stored error code suggest a fault within the steering wheel's electrical system. A defective cable connection is plausible. Has there been any recent work on the steering column or dashboard? Can you provide the exact error code from the diagnostic scan?

No recent work on the steering column or dashboard. I didn't write down the code. Can I check the cable connection myself, or is that best left to a professional?

Given the potential complexity and safety implications of working with the steering system and airbag components, seek professional diagnosis and repair. While a visual inspection might reveal obvious damage, a comprehensive assessment requires specialized tools and expertise. The likely cause, a defective cable connection in the steering wheel, typically results in a repair cost of approximately 95€. Take your Vauxhall Corsa to a reputable workshop.

Thanks for the advice. The garage found a broken wire inside the steering wheel, like you said. They fixed it for 95€, so I'm back in business. Appreciate the help!
