Corsa Oil Pressure Warning Light
Summary of the thread
A 2004 Vauxhall Corsa experienced an oil pressure warning light issue, suspected to be caused by a faulty engine oil temperature sensor or a defective cable connection. The oil gauge was functioning normally, leading to further suspicion of the temperature sensor. After a workshop diagnosis, it was confirmed that the problem was indeed a faulty connection with the engine oil temperature sensor, which was repaired, resolving the warning light issue.

Thanks! The oil gauge seems to be functioning normally, which is why I'm leaning towards the temperature sensor specifically. Where is the oil sensor located on your Corsa? I want to double check the connection.

On mine, it was near the oil filter. But honestly, without proper car diagnostics, pinpointing the exact cause is tricky. Since the oil pressure warning lamp is lighting up, I would recommend taking it to a workshop to avoid potential engine damage. It could be more than just the sensor.

Thank you for the advice. I followed your suggestion and had the car diagnosed at a workshop. It was indeed the engine oil temperature sensor, specifically a faulty connection as suspected. The repair cost was 95€. All warning lights are now off.

I had something similar happen with my Corsa. Is your oil gauge acting erratically too? It could be a bad oil sensor, or as you suspect, a wiring issue. Have you checked the sensor connector for corrosion or damage?
