Corsa oxygen sensor defective connection
Summary of the thread
A 2018 diesel Corsa with 143,590 km is experiencing a check engine light and increased fuel consumption, potentially due to a faulty oxygen sensor. Corrosion on the sensor's cable and plug suggests a defective connection might be the cause. A visit to a repair shop confirmed the faulty oxygen sensor due to the defective connection, leading to its replacement.

Thanks for the response. Do you recall any specific error codes associated with your sensor malfunction? Did you observe any fluctuations in the air-fuel ratio, or unusual readings from the exhaust system?

Can't remember the exact error code, sorry. But yeah, sounds like your issue will probably be the same as mine was. If the connection is dodgy, that's probably it. Honestly, I would just bring it to a workshop and have them check it properly.

I visited a local repair shop, as suggested, and they confirmed that the oxygen sensor was indeed faulty due to a defective cable connection. The replacement and associated labor amounted to 95€ Thanks for your help!

Sounds familiar. I drive a Corsa too, and had similar issues last year. An exhaust sensor was the culprit for me, triggered the check engine light and all that. Have you checked the catalytic converter?
