Corsa oxygen sensor heater fault

Hi, I've got a 2004 Vauxhall Corsa with a gasoline engine. Recently, the check engine light popped on, and I pulled the error code – seems to be the oxygen sensor heater. Fuel consumption's up too. I suspect a faulty cable or plug connection. Anyone experienced similar issues?

Hey! Yeah, O2 sensor issues are super common. Have you had a chance to test the sensor itself? Like, checked for voltage going to the heater element? Could be a simple fix like a broken wire.

Good point! Testing the sensor itself… how exactly would I go about that without damaging anything? I'm reasonably handy, but don't want to mess up the exhaust system.

Totally get your concern about messing things up! Honestly, fiddling with the exhaust and sensors can be a pain. Given you've got the increased fuel consumption and the code, it might be worth having a workshop take a peek. At least they can properly diagnose it.

Thanks for the advice! Took it to a local garage; turns out it was indeed a dodgy connection to the O2 sensor. Cost me 95€ all in. Running smoothly now!
