Corsa Power Steering Faulty Connection

Hi, I've got a 2017 Vauxhall Corsa, diesel engine, with about 36k km on the clock. Recently, the power steering seems to be playing up. The steering wheel vibrates, the handling feels spongy, and the error memory has stored a fault. Steering takes more effort, like the power steering is failing. Could a defective cable or plug connection be the cause?

Hello, I drive a Corsa too, and it sounds like you're experiencing something similar to what I went through. Was the error stored pointing towards the electric steering? I had similar symptoms before.

Yes, the error message does indicate something with the electric steering. Did you also have increased effort needed to steer? And did your steering wheel vibrate as well?

Increased effort, spongy handling and vibrating steering wheel – that's exactly what happened to mine! It turned out to be a faulty connection in the steering system. I think it's best to take your Corsa to a trusted workshop.

Okay, thanks for the advice! I took it to a workshop and they found a defective plug connection, just as suspected. Cost me 95€ to fix. Power steering is back to normal. Appreciate the help!
