Corsa PTC Heater Fault

Having a head-scratcher with my 2001 Vauxhall Corsa diesel. Only done 36441 km. Poor engine running when cold, error stored, and higher fuel consumption. Pretty sure it's the PTC heater – looks like the electric auxiliary heater is defective. Anyone else had similar gremlins?

Summary of the thread

A 2001 Vauxhall Corsa diesel is experiencing poor engine performance when cold, an error related to the heating system, and increased fuel consumption. The suspected cause is a defective PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) heater, which is an electric auxiliary heater. A similar issue was resolved by replacing the PTC heater element, suggesting a workshop visit for diagnosis and repair.

I had something similar with my Corsa. Is it throwing any specific codes?

Cheers for the quick reply! No specific codes, just a general 'electrical fault' related to the heating system. Was yours the PTC heater as well?

Yep, sounds exactly like what I had. Turned out to be the PTC heater element. I'd suggest getting it checked at a workshop. Cost me around 350€ to get sorted.

Thanks a bunch for confirming! I suspected as much. Looks like a trip to the workshop is on the cards. Hopefully, that'll sort it out. Appreciate the help!
