The speed sensor, eh? Where exactly is that located, and is it a difficult job to replace? Any special tools needed? I'm reasonably handy, but I don't want to make things worse.

Yes, it was the speed sensor for me. Honestly, I wouldn't recommend tackling it yourself unless you're very confident. I ended up taking mine to a workshop. It's a bit fiddly to get to, and you might need some specialized tools. Best to get it checked out by a professional to avoid complications. It should solve the problem.

Thanks for the advice! I suspected it might be beyond my skillset. I'll book it into a workshop. You were spot on – it was the speed sensor. Cost me about 250€ to get it sorted, but at least my Corsa is back on the road and not overheating!

Oh dear, this sounds familiar! I have a Corsa too. I had the same overheating and check engine light a while back. Have you checked the speed sensor? Turns out, that was causing my radiator fan to fail.
