Corsa Stalling After Fuel Filter Change

My 2002 diesel Vauxhall Corsa is having issues. The check engine light is on and it sometimes stalls. I've noticed a power reduction too. It started after I changed the fuel filter. Could a bad fuel pressure regulator cause rough idle and misfires?

Summary of the thread

After changing the fuel filter on a 2002 diesel Vauxhall Corsa, issues such as stalling, power reduction, and the check engine light appeared. These problems were linked to a defective fuel pressure regulator, likely affected during the filter change. The solution involved having a mechanic replace the faulty regulator, which resolved the stalling and power issues.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

I had a similar experience with my Corsa after a fuel filter change. Check your fuel rail pressure. Could be a dodgy fuel regulator.

What do you mean by 'dodgy fuel regulator'? Did you have stalling or power loss? How did you fix it? I'm trying to figure out if I can fix it myself or if I need a mechanic.

Yep, stalling and power loss. I'd get it checked at a workshop. Could be a simple fix, but best not to risk it.

I took it to a mechanic. It was a defective fuel pressure regulator, probably from the fuel filter change. They reset the error and replaced the regulator for 45€. It's running smoothly now. Thanks for the help!
