Corsa starting issues fixed by replacing fuse

Hi, I'm having some issues with my 2017 Vauxhall Corsa diesel. It's got about 117471 km on the clock. Lately, it's been struggling to start, and sometimes the engine just shuts off while I'm driving. Other times it's misfiring and running really rough. Any ideas what might be going on? I've checked the dashboard, but no lights are on.

Hello there! Your issues sound very similar to a problem I encountered some time ago with my Renault Megane. I had the same starting issue and the engine would die on me while driving. Rough running was also present. Does the car crank, but fails to fire or is there nothing when you turn the key? The usual suspects are the ignition switch, but it could also be the ignition coil and the related electrics. Have you checked the fuses? It's a long shot, but it might be something obvious.

Thanks for the tip. Yes, the car cranks, but fails to fire. I'll check the fuses tomorrow. Is there a specific fuse I should be looking for or a schematic for my car?

Given it cranks but doesn't fire, a defective fuse is the most probable cause. Unfortunately, I do not have a precise fuse layout for your specific Corsa version. A workshop might be best equipped to pinpoint the electrical gremlin. It could be a faulty ignition switch, but tracing these electrical issues without proper tools can be tricky. They would definitely know where to start, and it would be a much safer approach than trying to resolve it yourself.

OK, thanks for the advice. I checked the fuses, and one related to the ignition was indeed blown. Replaced it, and it seems to have fixed the problem. Cost me about 52€ for the fuse and fitting. Appreciate the help!
