My 2015 Corvette with a gasoline engine is showing an ABS lamp, system failure, and a lateral acceleration sensor fault code. Electronic stability is compromised. Control unit likely cause? Has anyone seen this?

Sounds familiar! I had a similar electronic stability issue on my old BMW 3 series. Traction control was going nuts, steering angle sensor seemed off too. Was it throwing any other weird codes along with the lateral sensor?

Just the lateral sensor fault. You think it was the control unit itself on your BMW?

Yep, turned out the control unit was toast. After a lot of head-scratching and testing, the workshop confirmed it. Honestly, with those symptoms, and especially with the stored error, I'd bite the bullet and take it to a decent workshop. Could be a pain to diagnose properly otherwise.

Cheers, I'll do that. Diagnosis confirmed defective control unit. Quoted 1000€ for repair. Thanks for the input.
