Corvette Start Stop Problem
Summary of the thread
A 2004 Chevy Corvette is experiencing issues with its start-stop system, where the engine shuts off randomly, accompanied by an error message and warning light. The problem might be related to the car battery, as similar symptoms were resolved by replacing the battery in another case. Checking the battery voltage under load and consulting a mechanic are suggested steps to address the issue.

Yeah, like a proper stall, not just a smooth shutdown. Battery voltage seems okay on the multimeter, but maybe it's dropping under load? What was the problem with yours exactly?

Exactly the same symptoms, error stored in the memory and everything. I messed with it for a bit, but honestly, in my case, it was a battery issue. Finally I gave up and took it to the local workshop. It cost me 290€ in the end.

Damn. Okay, I was hoping to avoid the shop, but sounds like I'm chasing ghosts here. Thanks for the heads-up! Looks like it's going to be an expensive trip to the mechanic. If they tell me it isn't the battery, I'll be back to share what the issue was.

I feel your pain. I've got a Corvette too, and had a similar issue. Does it feel like the engine is stalling or just abruptly cutting out? Mine did that, and it was a PITA! I suspect that the idle stop system causes similar issues in other cars too. Have you checked your battery voltage recently?
