Countryman suspension damping error
Summary of the thread
A 2010 Mini Countryman is experiencing a suspension damping error, resulting in a bumpy ride and a warning light on the dashboard. Diagnostics suggest a cable or plug connection issue with the damping component. A similar case involved a corroded connector on a front damper, which was resolved by cleaning the connector. Following this advice, the problem was fixed by addressing a faulty connector, eliminating the error and improving ride comfort.

When you say similar, was it also intermittent? And do you remember which damper it was? Trying to narrow down where to start poking around.

Yeah, it was intermittent at first, then got worse. I didn't diagnose it myself beyond wiggling wires. Took it to a workshop, and they confirmed it was a corroded connector on one of the front dampers. If you're not comfortable tracing wires, might be worth getting it checked professionally.

Just wanted to update this thread. Finally got around to troubleshooting this. Turns out, it was indeed a dodgy connector on the damper. Cleaned it up, and the error is gone! Ride comfort is noticeably improved. Thanks for the push in the right direction.

I had something similar with my Countryman. Noticed the ride got really harsh and the warning light came on. Have you checked the connections to the dampers themselves? Could be something simple like a loose plug.
