CR V Diesel Manifold Pressure Sensor Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2017 Honda CR-V diesel is experiencing issues with the check engine light, reduced engine power, poor response, and increased fuel consumption. Diagnostics indicate a potential faulty manifold pressure sensor, possibly due to a vacuum leak. A similar case involved a defective sensor and a hard-to-detect crack in a vacuum line, resolved by replacing the sensor and conducting a smoke test to identify leaks. The recommended solution is to have a mechanic perform a diagnostic, including a smoke test and sensor replacement.

Thanks. I haven't heard any whistling sounds. The symptoms came on pretty fast. What happened with yours? What was the cause, and how did you fix it?

Oh, man, it drove me nuts! No whistling for me either, just those same symptoms. Turned out the sensor was shot, and there was a small crack in one of the vacuum lines - hard to spot. I tried cleaning the sensor first, but no dice. Honestly, I ended up taking it to a shop. Best bet is probably getting it properly smoke-tested to find the leak and replace that sensor. Saved me a ton of stress!

Thanks for sharing. I'll book a diagnostic with a mechanic, including a smoke test and sensor replacement. For the record, the sensor replacement and vacuum leak repair cost 235€.

Whoa, that sounds familiar! I have a CR-V too, and I went through something similar. Check engine light, sluggish performance... the whole nine yards. Was there any whistling sound that might point to where the leak's coming from, or is it all just showing up in the readings?
