CR V Power Loss Rough Running
Summary of the thread
A 2013 Honda CR-V diesel with 213,000 kilometers is experiencing power loss, rough running, jerking on acceleration, a loud hissing sound, and increased fuel consumption. These symptoms suggest a potential issue with the air intake or intake manifold flap control, despite no engine light being present. A similar case confirmed the problem as a defective intake manifold flap control, which required replacement to restore smooth operation.

Thanks! No engine light, which is weird. And yeah, now that you mention it, there's a slight engine misfire too. Was it definitely the flap control on your car? What was the fix?

Okay, no engine light is strange, it could still be the flap control. I thought it was something simple at first, but it steadily got worse so I had to take mine to a workshop, the mechanic said switch intake manifold control defective. I'd suggest getting it checked out sooner rather than later.

Thanks a lot! I will take it to the mechanic ASAP. Turns out you were right: intake manifold flap control, a new one including labour set me back 465€. At least she's running smoothly again!

I had almost the exact same thing happen on my CR-V! Rough running, power loss, the works. I didn't have the hissing sound. Has the engine light come on at all? It does sound like a problem with the air intake. The flap control thing... could be. Does it feel like it's misfiring?
