CR Z Auxiliary Battery Issue

I have a 2010 Honda CR-Z with a hybrid engine, currently at 207534 km. I'm experiencing what seems to be an auxiliary battery malfunction. The symptoms include an error message on the speedometer, an error code stored in the system, a weak battery during engine start, and general electrical oddities. I suspect the battery isn't charging properly. Has anyone else faced this?

Summary of the thread

A 2010 Honda CR-Z with a hybrid engine is experiencing symptoms indicative of an auxiliary battery malfunction, including error messages, a weak battery during engine start, and electrical issues like slow power windows and a disabled auto stop/start feature. The suspected cause is improper battery charging, leading to a voltage drop. The suggested solution is to replace the auxiliary battery, as similar issues were resolved by doing so in another CR-Z.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Hey, I have a CR-Z too, though a bit newer. Those symptoms sound really familiar. When you say 'general electrical oddities', could you be more specific? Is it just the starting issue, or are things like interior lights or the radio acting up too? I'm wondering if we had the same problem.

Thanks for the quick reply. By 'general electrical oddities,' I mean the power windows are slow, and the auto stop/start feature is disabled, in addition to the initial symptoms. Was your issue similar? Any insight would be great.

Okay, that seals it. My CR-Z had the exact same problems. Windows, auto stop/start... all gone wonky. I tried a few things myself, but honestly, I'd just take it to a workshop. It sounds like the auxiliary battery is on its way out. I ended up paying around 300€ for a new battery and install.

Thanks for confirming my suspicions and the cost estimate. I appreciate the help. I'll take it to the workshop and get the auxiliary battery replaced. Seems like the voltage drop is more severe than I initially thought. A new battery it is.
