CR Z weak starting battery

Hey, I'm having a weird issue with my 2016 Honda CR-Z hybrid. It's got about 33,000 km on it. Lately, it's been struggling to start, like the battery is super weak. Been checking all the fuses I can find. Someone told me something about 'Terminal 30 continuous plus interrupted' but it all sounds like techno babble to me. Any ideas?

Summary of the thread

The 2016 Honda CR-Z hybrid is experiencing weak starting issues, likely due to a depleted or defective battery. The problem is more pronounced in colder temperatures, suggesting a potential battery or charging system issue. It is recommended to have a qualified automotive technician diagnose the battery and charging system to determine the cause of the voltage drop. Ultimately, the issue was confirmed to be a heavily discharged or defective battery, which was resolved by professional intervention.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

I understand you're experiencing starting issues with your Honda CR-Z. Could you please describe any efforts you've made to troubleshoot the potential 'Terminal 30' issue? Furthermore, have you observed if the voltage drop occurs consistently or under specific environmental conditions?

Thanks for the reply! To be honest, I haven’t done much beyond looking at the fuses in the fuse box – all appear ok, none seem visibly blown. I don’t know how to check voltage drops or anything like that; never done that myself. It seems worse when it’s cold, maybe that is useful?

Given that your initial inspection of the fuses yielded no obvious issues and considering the symptom's correlation with colder ambient temperatures, it might indicate a depleted or defective battery. It would be prudent to schedule an appointment with a qualified automotive technician for diagnostic procedures, specifically targeting the battery and charging system. This should ascertain the extent of the voltage drop.

Yeah, I think you're right, time to bite the bullet and take it in. The workshop confirmed it was a heavily discharged/defective battery and the bill came to 290€. Thanks for guiding me to the pro's!
