Thanks! Where exactly should I be looking for this cable and plug connection? Is it easy to get to, or will I need to remove a bunch of stuff to see it?

On my Astra, it was pretty accessible, right on the throttle body itself. But, honestly, if you're not confident, it's best to get it checked by someone who knows what they're doing. Could save you some headaches.

Thanks, I appreciate the advice. Took it to a workshop; you were right. Defective cable or plug connection. Repair cost 95€. All working perfectly now.

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my old Opel Astra. The cruise control packed up, and it turned out to be a dodgy connection. Check the cable and plug connections to the throttle body – that might be the culprit. Worth a look before replacing parts.
