Creta Transmission Oil Pressure Sensor Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Hyundai Creta diesel exhibited an engine warning light, with diagnostics indicating a transmission oil pressure sensor fault. The vehicle was in emergency mode, experiencing slipping, erratic shifting, and grinding noises. The core issue was identified as low gearbox oil, which triggered the sensor fault. After topping up the gearbox oil, the warning light was resolved, and the vehicle's performance improved.

No, I haven't checked the level myself yet. I wasn't sure where to check it on this model. Also, what do you mean by what does it look like?

Okay, the grinding noise still worries me, could be mechanical damage. It is highly likely that low oil level triggers the oil pressure sensor and puts it in emergency mode. I'd recommend getting it checked by a workshop to avoid further damage.

Thanks for the advice! Took it to the shop. Turns out the gearbox oil was indeed very low, causing the pressure sensor fault. They topped it up and the light is gone. Total cost was 365€, including the oil and sensor check.

Sounds like a potential transmission oil pressure sensor fault, but it's odd to have all those symptoms together. Grinding noises aren't usually related to a sensor. Have you checked the gearbox oil level yourself yet? What does the oil look like?
