Crew dashboard lights issue

I'm having a weird lighting issue with my 2002 Nissan Crew, gasoline engine. The dashboard lights are acting up – sometimes they don't come on at all, sometimes they're super dim. My scanner shows an error stored in the error memory. I'm thinking it might be the light switch itself, or maybe a bad connection. Has anyone else run into this?

I also drive a Nissan Crew, and your symptoms sound vaguely reminiscent of a problem I once encountered. If I recall correctly, a faulty cable or plug connection of the component was suspected in my instance. Has the dimmer switch been ruled out as a potential source of the malfunctions?

Thanks for the reply! I haven't specifically checked the dimmer switch. How would I go about testing that, and what exactly did you mean by 'cable or plug connection'? Do you have a better idea of which connection point might be defective?

I can't say with certainty that we had the exact same issues or that this will resolve your problems. In my case, a professional at the workshop identified a loose connection behind the dashboard. Given the potential complexity of modern vehicle electrics, I would strongly recommend seeking counsel from a similarly qualified technician before attempting repairs yourself. The eventual repair cost was 95€.

Okay, thanks for the advice! I'll take it to a shop and see what they say. Sounds like it could be a similar connection issue. I appreciate the help!
