Where should I look for blockages? Can I check it myself, or do I need special tools?

Check the front grille and radiator fins for leaves, plastic bags, stuff like that. If you don't see anything obvious, a workshop is your best bet. Could be internal. That's what I did.

Thanks for the tip! Took it to a shop, and you were right – a piece of road junk was stuck in the cooling grille. They cleared it, checked the system, and it's all good now. Cost me 52€, appreciate the help!
