Cronos AC failure
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Fiat Cronos experienced a complete AC failure, with the system not cooling or switching on, accompanied by a warning light and error code. The issue was suspected to be a refrigerant leak or a more serious problem. A suggestion was made to check the AC compressor, but it was ultimately determined that the air conditioning control unit was defective. The problem was resolved by replacing the control unit at a workshop.

Thanks for the quick reply! You mean the actual AC compressor unit? How did you figure out it was that? I'm not super mechanically inclined, so any guidance is appreciated!

Yep, the compressor itself. From your description, everything points to a potential failure there. In my case the air conditioning control unit was defective. Considering the symptoms and the error code, and that it is an electrical part, I’d advise you to take it to a workshop instead of trying to fix it yourself.

Okay, thanks so much for your help! I took it to a workshop, and you were spot on. Turns out the air conditioning control unit was defective. The repair cost me 980€, but at least it’s fixed now!

Sounds familiar. I had a similar problem with my Cronos. The error stored in the memory is a solid hint. Have you checked the AC compressor? If the AC isn't engaging at all, that's where I'd start looking.
