Cronos hard starting cold

Hey, I'm having a real headache with my 2019 Fiat Cronos (gasoline engine). It's got about 92,878 km on the clock. Lately, it's been starting terribly, especially when it's cold. The engine runs really rough during the cold start phase, like it's not getting enough fuel. I'm thinking it might be a fuel delivery issue. Could it be a faulty cold start injector? I've read a bit about testing the fuel rail pressure, but I'm not sure where to start. Any ideas?

Summary of the thread

The 2019 Fiat Cronos is experiencing hard starting issues, particularly when cold, with rough engine performance during the cold start phase. This problem is suspected to be related to a fuel delivery issue, possibly a faulty cold start injector. A defective injector can disrupt the air-fuel mixture, leading to poor running conditions. It is recommended to have the injectors professionally tested and potentially replaced, as diagnosing individual injectors typically requires specialized equipment.

I had a similar problem with my Cronos. Hard starting, especially in winter. A defective injector can definitely cause those symptoms. The fuel injectors are responsible for spraying fuel into the engine's cylinders. If one isn't working properly, it can mess up the air-fuel mixture, leading to poor running conditions. Does it improve once the engine warms up?

Thanks for the quick reply! Yes, exactly, it gets better once it warms up, although it still doesn't feel as smooth as it used to. If it is the injector, is there any way to confirm which one is faulty without specialized equipment? Or is it best to just replace them all? What did you end up doing with yours?

Mine was pretty much the same. Improved when warm, but not perfect. Honestly, diagnosing individual injectors usually requires a proper injector test, which a workshop can do. It's possible to try and clean them, but if one is truly defective, replacement is the best option. Given the symptoms and mileage, a faulty injector is a strong possibility. I'd recommend getting it checked professionally. I ended up having to replace the faulty injector; the repair cost me around 515€ at the workshop.

Okay, thanks a lot for the advice! Sounds like a trip to the workshop is in order. I really appreciate you sharing your experience, at least now I have an idea of what to expect. I'll let you know what they find. Hopefully, it's just one injector!
