Cronos Solar Sensor Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Fiat Cronos with a gasoline engine is experiencing a 'Solar sensor fault' error and low heating output, suspected to be due to a faulty connection. The issue arose after the car was parked in direct sunlight for an extended period. A similar problem was resolved by checking the sensor and connections, leading to a recommendation to visit a workshop for a proper diagnosis. The problem was confirmed to be a defective cable/plug connection, which was repaired at a workshop.

Good question! Yes, it was parked in direct sunlight all day for two days straight before this started. Do you think that overexposed the HVAC sensor? Was that the case in your situation as well?

Bingo! That's exactly what happened to me. It's almost like the sensor got sunburnt. I'd say, save yourself the headache and just get it checked at a workshop. They'll probably just replace the sensor or fix the connection. It's worth it for a proper diagnosis and fix.

Thanks for the tip! I took your advice and went to the workshop. Turns out it was indeed a defective cable/plug connection, as suspected. They fixed it for 95€. Appreciate the help!

Interesting! I've got a Cronos too, and your issue sounds eerily similar to something I encountered. Almost like a bad joke, right? Was the car sitting in direct sunlight for a while before this started happening?
