Cronos Tire Pressure ABS Steering Issues

My 2019 Fiat Cronos with a gasoline engine is giving me a headache. The tire pressure low warning keeps popping up even after I've checked and inflated the tires. The ABS lamp lights up intermittently, the steering wheel vibrates like crazy at higher speeds, and it feels like the power steering is failing. Mileage is at 214053 km. Any ideas?

Summary of the thread

A 2019 Fiat Cronos owner experienced persistent tire pressure warnings, intermittent ABS light activation, and severe steering wheel vibrations at higher speeds, suggesting potential power steering failure. The issues were suspected to be caused by faulty tire pressure sensors, which are integrated with the valve stem inside the tire and can affect interconnected systems like ABS and power steering. The recommended solution was to have the sensors checked and replaced by a professional, which ultimately resolved the problems after replacing a defective valve.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Woah, that sounds rough! I also own a Cronos, and I had a similar issue last year. The tire pressure warning light was driving me nuts even though the tires were perfectly inflated. Did you check the tire pressure sensors themselves? Are they the original ones? Maybe one of them is faulty and messing with the whole system, causing the ABS and steering issues.

Good point! I haven't specifically checked the sensors. Where exactly are they located, and is there an easy way to test them? I'm wondering if it's worth trying to replace them myself, or if I should just bite the bullet and take it to a mechanic. Plus, could a faulty sensor really cause the steering and ABS to go haywire?

Okay, so the sensors are integrated with the valve stem inside the tire. You can't really 'test' them at home without special tools. And yes, a faulty sensor can definitely mess with the ABS and power steering systems because they're all interconnected via the car's computer. Honestly, based on all the symptoms you're describing, I'd say it's best to take it to a workshop. They can properly diagnose the issue and replace the faulty sensor. It's probably a defective valve in tire.

Alright, thanks a lot for the advice! I took it to the shop, and you were spot on it was indeed a defective valve in tire! I replaced the valve in tire, and that fixed all the issues. Cost me 280€, but at least the Cronos is back on the road and steering smoothly again. Appreciate the help!
