Crossland ABS Fault

Hi, I'm having a nightmare with my 2020 Vauxhall Crossland X petrol. It's got about 188877 km on the odometer. The ABS lamp keeps lighting up, and I'm getting traction problems. Basically, the ABS system seems to be failing intermittently. I've had a diagnostic check done, and it's showing a speed signal fault. Any ideas? Could this be related to a faulty input to the speedometer or something else?

I had a similar issue with my Vauxhall Crossland, although I haven't encountered the problem you describe. The diagnostic suggested the affected control unit was defective. Have you checked the control unit?

Thanks for the quick reply! By 'control unit', do you mean the ABS control module itself? Is there any way to test this, or is it something that needs specialist equipment? I am a bit of a novice when it comes to car repairs.

Yes, I am referring to the ABS control module. Given the symptoms and diagnostic information, in my view a defective control unit is the likely cause. While some basic tests are possible, I would advise taking it to a qualified workshop for proper diagnosis and repair. You could end up causing additional problems or misdiagnosing the source of the error.

Thanks. I feared as much. I'll book it in at the local garage. I got a quote for around 1000€, which seems steep but I guess it's a specialist job. I will post an explanation when it's sorted.
