Crossland X Crankshaft Camshaft Error

I'm experiencing a perplexing issue with my 2019 Vauxhall Crossland X gasoline engine. I'm getting a 'Crankshaft to camshaft reference value' error. Symptoms include the check engine light, reduced engine power, poor engine response, and higher fuel consumption. From what I've gathered, it points towards a defective crankshaft sensor. Has anyone else encountered this, and does it sound plausible?

Whoa, sounds familiar! I've got a Crossland X too, and I had something similar happen a while back. Engine light, sluggish acceleration – it felt like I was driving through treacle! The whole car was kinda juddering like an old washing machine on its last legs. Did you check the wiring to the crank sensor? Maybe it's just a loose connection?

Interesting! Thanks for the quick reply. I haven't specifically checked the wiring yet, but I did a general visual inspection and didn't spot anything obvious. When you had the issue, did the error code specifically mention the crankshaft/camshaft reference, or was it something different? Also, did it clear up after replacing the sensor itself?

Yeah, the error code was the same, something about the camshaft and crankshaft being out of sync. It's like the engine's trying to run a marathon with its shoelaces tied together! I messed around with it for ages, checking fuses and praying to the car gods, but in the end, I just took it to a workshop. They sorted it pretty quickly. Honestly, unless you're super confident, I'd say bite the bullet and get it checked out by a pro.

Thanks, I appreciate the advice. I was hoping to avoid the workshop, but it sounds like that's the wisest course of action. Just for closure, the garage confirmed it was indeed the crankshaft sensor, and after replacing it, the issue is resolved. The final repair cost was around 340€. Thanks for your help!
