Crossland X diesel particulate filter issue

My 2020 Vauxhall Crossland X diesel has lost power and is smoking a lot when I accelerate, even though it's only done 20393 km. Could this be a DPF issue, maybe backpressure? Has anyone else had this?

I had a similar problem with my 2016 Peugeot 308 diesel: reduced power and smoke. Has your fuel efficiency changed, or any warning lights come on? Have you tried a forced DPF regeneration?

Thanks! Yes, my fuel efficiency has dropped, and the engine check light is on. What's 'forced regeneration,' and how do I do it?

Forced regeneration burns off soot in the DPF. Some cars do it automatically; others need a scan tool. With your symptoms and the engine light, it's likely a defective DPF. I'd recommend a workshop inspection.

Thanks for the help! The mechanic confirmed the DPF was defective and replaced it. Cost me 1550€. Looking forward to driving my Crossland again.
