Crossland X Engine Overheating and Coolant Leak

My 2019 Vauxhall Crossland X, diesel engine, with 63249 km is throwing up weird errors. The check engine light keeps popping on, the engine's overheating, and I've noticed coolant leaking – seems like excessive pressure in the cooling system. I'm suspecting a control unit communication error, but I'm not sure where to start. Anyone seen anything like this before?

Sounds rough. I had similar grief with my Crossland X. Is it possibly a software glitch? I would check the cable and plug connections of the control unit at first. Could be a dodgy data link or a wiring issue messing with the control module.

Cheers for the quick reply. Could you elaborate a bit on which cable or plug connections I should be focusing on in particular? Any specific module areas that are more prone to this kind of thing?

Yeah, sure. In my case, it ended up being a corroded connector on the engine control unit itself. Honestly, though, with those symptoms, especially the overheating and coolant spill, I'd seriously consider getting it checked out by a workshop. Could save you a bigger headache down the line.

Thanks for the advice! Ended up taking it to a local workshop, and you were spot on. Turns out a faulty connection was causing all sorts of problems. They cleaned it up and it cost me 95€. Runs like a dream now!
