Crossland X Engine Smoke and Power Loss

Hi, I have a 2017 Vauxhall Crossland X diesel with 62352 km on the clock. Recently, the check engine light came on. I've noticed reduced engine power and some smoke when accelerating. Could this be a crankcase ventilation issue?

Hey there! I had similar issues with my Crossland X, although it was a while back. Those symptoms sound familiar. Did you notice any unusual noises or a burning smell along with the smoke?

Thanks for the quick reply! No unusual noises or burning smells, just the smoke, light, and power loss. Was it definitely the crankcase ventilation valve for you?

Yep, turned out to be a defective crankcase ventilation. If you're seeing smoke, reduced power, and the check engine light, I'd bet it's the same. I ended up taking it to a workshop; they replaced the valve, and the problems disappeared. Might be best to get it checked professionally.

Thanks a lot for sharing your experience! I'll book it in for a checkup and mention the crankcase ventilation valve. Hopefully, it's a simple fix! It was indeed the crankcase ventilation valve. Cost me 360€ to get it sorted, but all good now!
