Thanks for the quick reply! I did a quick visual inspection of the wiring, and it seemed okay, but I didn't check the connections thoroughly for corrosion. As for the back pressure readings, the OBD reader showed fluctuating values, which seemed erratic. It would jump from normal to very high readings intermittently. Does that sound like a faulty sensor to you?

Those fluctuating readings definitely point towards a faulty sensor or a wiring issue. Given that you've already visually inspected the wiring, and the readings are erratic, it's likely the sensor itself. On my Peugeot, replacing the exhaust back pressure sensor resolved the problem entirely. However, I'd still recommend taking it to a reputable workshop to confirm the diagnosis before you start replacing parts. They'll have the proper tools and expertise to accurately diagnose the issue.

Thanks for your help! I took it to a local mechanic, and they confirmed it was the exhaust back pressure sensor. They replaced it for 245€, and the warning light is gone, the smoke is gone, and the DPF is regenerating again! Appreciate the advice.

Interesting. I had a similar problem with my 2015 Peugeot 308, also a diesel. Same symptoms: warning light, smoke during acceleration, and DPF refusing to regenerate. Before you jump to replacing the sensor, have you checked the wiring and connections to the sensor itself? Sometimes a loose or corroded connection can cause false readings. Also, do you know what the back pressure readings are? A faulty sensor might give an implausible value.
