Crossland X Intermittent Starting and Stalling
Summary of the thread
The 2022 Vauxhall Crossland X diesel is experiencing intermittent starting issues, stalling at idle, rough running, increased fuel consumption, and a check engine light. These symptoms, along with a stored error code, suggest a potential issue with the fuel pump's electrical connections. A similar problem was resolved by checking and fixing a faulty plug connection to the fuel pump, which was confirmed and repaired by a professional workshop.

A dodgy connector, eh? Interesting. Where exactly was this connector located on your Megane? And how did you figure out that was the problem?

Right, on the Megane, it was right near the fuel tank, pretty exposed to the elements. I only found it after hours of frustration and a bit of luck, wiggling wires while someone tried to start the engine. Honestly, though, given your symptoms and the error code, and before you start dismantling things, I'd seriously consider getting a professional to take a look, especially with modern cars. They have the right diagnostic tools to pinpoint the issue properly. Could save you a load of time and potential headaches.

Thanks for the advice! You were spot on. Took it to a workshop, and it was indeed a faulty plug connection to the fuel pump. They sorted it for 95€.

Oh my days, that sounds eerily familiar! I had a similar nightmare with my old Renault Megane a while back. Same symptoms – engine cutting out, check engine light blazing, the whole shebang. Did you check the fuel pump's electrical connections? On my Megane, it turned out to be a dodgy connector. Seems like a common issue across different makes.
