Crossland X multifunction steering wheel failure

Alright, bit of a nightmare brewing with my 2020 Vauxhall Crossland X, gasoline engine. The multifunction steering wheel has completely given up the ghost! I mean, nothing works – no volume control, can't answer calls, cruise control is dead. The error memory has flagged an issue, but I haven't had time to deep-dive into vehicle diagnostics. Has anyone else had this? Steering column issues maybe? Feels like a total electrical fault in the steering controls. Any ideas before I get fleeced by a garage?

I also own a Crossland X. I had a similar issue with the multifunction steering wheel a while ago. If an error is stored in the error memory, have you checked the cable connections in the steering wheel itself? That was the problem with mine.

Cable connections, eh? Interesting. Where exactly were the defective cable connections? I mean, I'm reasonably handy, but I don't want to start ripping things apart if it's a super-specialized area. Was it something obvious once you got in there, or were you poking around with a multimeter for hours?

I can confirm that the issue was indeed related to defective cable connections within the steering wheel. In my experience, due to the potential complexity of the electrical fault within the steering controls, a visit to the workshop is advisable for a thorough vehicle diagnostics assessment.

Thanks so much for the advice! I took it to a local garage, and you were spot on – dodgy cable connection in the steering wheel. They sorted it for 95€. Saved me a fortune compared to what the main dealer quoted! Cheers!
