Crossland X NOx Catalyst and Exhaust Leak

I'm experiencing a problem with my 2017 Vauxhall Crossland X with a gasoline engine. It has 117768 km on it. The check engine light is on, and it shows an error regarding NOx storage catalyst aging. I've also noticed what seems like an exhaust leak. Could this leak be causing the NOx catalyst issue?

Hey! I had a similar issue with my Crossland X. The exhaust leak definitely sounds like the problem. Think of it like trying to bake a cake with a hole in your oven - the heat escapes and messes everything up. Is the leak noticeable, and where do you think it's coming from?

Thanks for the quick response! The leak seems to be coming from somewhere around the flex pipe, but it's hard to pinpoint. It's more of a hissing sound than a loud roar. Is that what you experienced?

Yup, that's pretty much exactly what I went through. A small hissing sound near the flex pipe. NOx sensors are super sensitive; even a tiny leak throws everything off. I'd suggest getting it checked out by a workshop. In my case, it was a corroded section of the exhaust. A proper inspection will save you time and headache!

Thanks a lot for the information! I took your advice and brought it to a trusted workshop, and you were spot on. There was indeed a leak in the exhaust system! They replaced the corroded section, and the error is now gone. The total repair cost was 265€. I appreciate your help in figuring this out!
