Crossland X Overheating Bypass Valve Error

My 2023 Vauxhall Crossland X with a gasoline engine is overheating. I've got 77632 km on it. The error memory says there's a bypass valve malfunction. I checked for coolant leaks and exhaust issues, but everything looks okay. Could this be related to engine stalling or power loss I had last week? I'm not a mechanic, but could this be a consequential error?

Whoa, overheating is never good! I had a similar scare with my Crossland X a while back. The error memory lit up, and the engine temp was climbing. Did you notice any weird noises or smells before the overheating?

No weird noises, thankfully! Just the engine overheating and the bypass valve error code. Was it also the bypass valve for you, and did it cause the overheating? What did you do to fix it?

Yep, bypass valve was the culprit for me too. I'm betting it's the same for you. Honestly, I wouldn't mess with it too much myself. I took mine straight to the workshop. They sorted it out pretty quick.

I booked it in at the local garage based on your advice. Turns out it was a consequential error! The valve itself was fine, but a faulty sensor was giving false readings. They replaced the sensor, cleared the codes, and the overheating is gone. Best part? Covered under warranty, so it cost me X€!
