CrosslandX Active Hood Fault

I'm experiencing a concerning issue with my 2020 Vauxhall CrosslandX diesel. The on-board computer displays an "Active hood fault" message, and the airbag warning lamp is constantly illuminated. Diagnostic checks confirm the error, and the spring actuators have triggered. I suspect a defective acceleration sensor. This is a critical safety system, and I am quite worried.

I have a similar CrosslandX. I had the same symptoms, with the active hood fault and airbag light. Sounds like a faulty crash detection system. Have you checked the sensor?

Indeed, a faulty crash detection system seems plausible. You mentioned checking the sensor; could you elaborate on which sensor you mean, and perhaps where it's located?

Yes, the acceleration sensor. I wouldn't recommend replacing it yourself unless you are experienced. I would visit a reputable workshop; that is where they found the defective sensor in my car.

Thank you for the clarification. I will take your advice and bring it to a workshop. As suspected, it was indeed the acceleration sensor, and the repair cost me 315€. The error is now gone.
