CrosslandX brake fluid warning
Summary of the thread
A 2022 Vauxhall CrosslandX owner reported a brake fluid warning light and unusual brake pedal feedback. The brake fluid level appeared low, but no leaks were visible around the master cylinder. A suggestion was made to check the brake pads, as worn pads can cause the fluid level to drop. Upon inspection, the front pads were found to be worn out, and replacing them along with the brake fluid resolved the issue.

I haven't checked the pads, no. That could be it, I suppose. How worn were yours when you had the problem?

They were pretty much shot. Once I replaced them and topped off the brake fluid, the warning light went away and the pedal felt normal again. Although you should check your brake lines as well. If you are not comfortable doing it yourself, I'd take it to a workshop.

Thanks a lot for the tip! You were spot on; took it to the shop and the front pads were completely gone. New pads, fluid replacement, and a brake inspection set me back 480€, but at least it's sorted.

That sounds familiar. I have a CrosslandX too, and had a similar thing happen. Have you had your brakes checked recently? Could be the pads are worn down, causing the fluid level to drop as the calipers compensate.
