Cheers for the tip! Wiring and connections... where exactly am I looking for this thing? Is it easy to get to, or am I going to need to dismantle half the dashboard?

The interior temperature sensor is usually located somewhere on the dashboard or center console, often near the ventilation outlets. However, before taking anything apart, I would recommend taking the vehicle to a workshop. It seems likely that the cable or plug connection of the component is defective.

Thanks, appreciate the advice. Took it to the shop, and you were spot on – dodgy connection on the temp sensor. 95€ later, and the climate control is back in action. Lesson learned: always check the connections!

Sounds plausible. If the auto climate control isn't working and you have a stored error, a faulty interior temperature sensor is likely. Before replacing parts, have you checked the sensor's wiring and connections? A loose or corroded connector can cause similar symptoms.
