A frayed wire, eh? Was it hard to get to? And how did you find the break? I'm imagining wrestling with trim and ending up with more plastic shards than answers!

It wasn't exactly a walk in the park, but no special tools were required. I took it to the workshop; the mechanic traced it back to a bad connection that they re-soldered. The diagnosis alone was more effort than fixing it. I'd suggest getting it checked out professionally before you start ripping things apart.

You were spot on! I took it to a local garage. For 95€, it was a defective cable/plug connection. They sorted it quickly. Thanks for the advice!

Sounds familiar! My old Volvo V70 had a similar issue. It was a frayed wire in the wiring harness where it passes from the car body into the door. Check the continuity with a multimeter it could save you money!
