Thanks for sharing your experience! That's really helpful. I've got my car booked in at a local garage next week, and your situation sounds spot on like mine. Just wondering, do you remember roughly how much the whole thing set you back? And has everything been running smoothly since the repair, or have you had any other niggles pop up? Cheers!

Hey again! Yeah happy to help with the cost details. The whole job came to 1325.00 €, not exactly cheap, but it was worth every penny to get it sorted properly. The main chunk was for the DPF cleaning since it was really clogged up. The good news is that since getting it fixed, my Mokka's been running absolutely spot on! The exhaust gas back pressure sensor error that was causing all that grief is completely gone. No more black smoke, no power issues, and the DPF's been regenerating like it should. It's been about a year now, and I haven't had a single problem related to this. Just make sure your garage knows what they're doing with DPFs, sounds like you've made the right call getting it looked at quickly. Let me know how you get on with yours! Take care!

Hey thanks a lot for all the info! Just got back from the garage today and thought I'd update you. You were spot on about everything! The whole repair came to around 1200€, a bit better than what you paid. The mechanic was actually really good, showed me the clogged DPF and explained everything. Took it for a proper drive after, and what a difference! No more black smoke, engine's running smooth as butter, and the power's all back. It's like driving a different car! The mechanic also gave me some tips about driving style to help prevent it happening again, apparently, I need to give it more motorway runs to help with the regeneration. Really appreciate your help on this one. Saved me from stressing too much about it. Time to enjoy my smoke-free rides again! Cheers!

Hey! I had nearly identical issues with my 2016 Vauxhall Mokka diesel last year. The symptoms you're describing sound exactly like what I experienced, the black smoke, power loss, and failed DPF regen cycles were a real pain. Took it to my trusted mechanic and turns out the DPF was heavily clogged and the back pressure sensor was giving false readings. They had to do a forced DPF regeneration first, but that wasn't enough. The DPF needed a proper clean because it was about 80% blocked. They also replaced the pressure sensor since it was faulty. It was quite a serious issue that needed immediate attention, running it like that could've led to more engine damage. After the fix, the car ran like new again, no more smoke or power issues. If you're in this situation, don't wait too long to get it checked. The longer you drive with a blocked DPF, the worse it gets. Cheers
