I did visually inspect the hoses for obvious damage, but found none. Was your Renault stalling consistently, or was it more intermittent, like mine?

It started intermittently, just like yours, and gradually got worse. Eventually, it would stall almost every time I stopped at a light. Honestly, I'd suggest taking it to a qualified mechanic. They'll have the proper tools and diagnostic equipment to pinpoint the issue more accurately. Could save you a lot of time and headache!

I have since taken it to a workshop, and the tank ventilation valve was indeed the culprit, with clogged hoses as suspected. Repair came to 175€. Issue resolved!

That sounds frustrating! I had a similar problem with my old Renault a few years back. Check engine light, stalling... turned out to be the purge valve. Although, on the Renault, the mechanic mentioned something about a faulty pressure sensor contributing too. Have you checked for any obvious kinks or damage to the hoses?
