CrosslandX Glow Plug Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2020 diesel Vauxhall CrosslandX exhibited a persistent preheating lamp on the dashboard, indicating a potential glow plug issue. The error memory suggested a defective glow plug, which can lead to reduced fuel efficiency and engine misfires, particularly when starting from cold. The problem was confirmed and resolved by replacing the faulty glow plug, preventing further complications.

Did you experience any noticeable changes in engine performance or fuel consumption before fixing the glow plug? How long did you drive with the preheating lamp illuminated before resolving it?

Yeah, I noticed a bit of a drop in fuel efficiency and a slight engine misfire, especially when starting from cold. Didn't drive it for long like that though, maybe a week? I’d get it checked ASAP. Probably just a glow plug, but best to be sure before it causes more issues. Workshop time, I reckon!

The workshop confirmed a defective glow plug and replaced it. The total cost was 440€. Thanks for sharing your experience; it helped diagnose the issue.

Hey! I had a similar issue with my CrosslandX. The preheating light stayed on, and the engine light popped up eventually. Check engine was screaming at me! Is it running rough? Could be a dodgy glow plug. They're a pain, but relatively cheap to replace.
